Day 9 – Go Ye Therefore and Teach All Nations

Part 9/19: 40 Days with the Risen Christ

The Risen Christ commissions His Apostles

Words of the Risen Lord

Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:
Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you.
Matthew 28:19–20 (KJV)

The Moment

On a mountain in Galilee, the Risen Christ gave His apostles their lifelong mission. “Go ye therefore, and teach all nations.” (see Matthew 28:19).

The commission was clear: teach, baptize, and gather souls to Christ. Their task was not limited by borders, by race, or by tradition. It was universal.

And they were to teach not just belief, but obedience: “Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you.” (see Matthew 28:20).

Insights from Scripture and Prophets

Christ’s Great Commission is not simply about spreading knowledge—it is about inviting souls into covenant, through baptism and discipleship. The fullness of the gospel includes both faith and ordinance, both testimony and transformation.

President Russell M. Nelson taught:

“Our message to the world is simple and sincere: we invite all of God’s children on both sides of the veil to come unto their Savior, receive the blessings of the holy temple, have enduring joy, and qualify for eternal life.”
President Russell M. Nelson, April 2021 General Conference

The call to “go ye therefore” is as urgent now as it was then. Christ’s invitation crosses every boundary, extends to every soul.
