Day 14 – Blessed be the name of the Most High God

Part 14/19: 40 Days with the Risen Christ

Nephites worship the risen Christ

Words of the People

Hosanna! Blessed be the name of the Most High God!
3 Nephi 11:17

The Moment

After each person had gone forth to feel the prints in His hands and feet—after they had received their witness of the Risen Lord—their response was not whispered:

“Hosanna! Blessed be the name of the Most High God!”

Insights from Scripture and Prophets

The word “Hosanna” comes from Hebrew roots meaning “save now” or “grant salvation.” To shout “Hosanna” is both a praise and a plea: a declaration of gratitude for salvation already offered, and a yearning for its fulfillment in us.

President Russell M. Nelson reminded us of its power during the 2020 worldwide Hosanna Shout:

“It is a sacred tribute to the Father and the Son… It reverently acknowledges Jesus Christ as the Messiah of Israel and the Savior of the world.”
