Words of the Risen Lord
All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.

The Moment
After His Resurrection, the Savior appeared to the Eleven in Galilee, as He had directed them. Standing in their midst, the Risen Lord declared, “All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.” (see Matthew 28:18).
Christ had descended below all things and ascended above all things. His victory was complete. His authority was now absolute across heaven and earth.

In this brief statement, Christ affirms that He is not only the Savior, but the sovereign King. His Resurrection is not just personal. And yet, He stands among His disciples—near, familiar, full of grace and truth.
