Day 15 – Words of the Risen Lord

Part 15/19: 40 Days with the Risen Christ

Christ teaches His doctrine to the Nephites

Words of the Risen Lord

Behold, this is my doctrine—whosoever repenteth and cometh unto me, the same is my church. — 3 Nephi 11:30

The Moment

His first doctrinal instruction was not complex—it was clear and foundational:

“This is my doctrine: whosoever repenteth and cometh unto me, the same is my church.” (3 Nephi 11:30)

He taught against contention. He warned that Satan stirs up hearts to anger. He made it clear that **His doctrine unites** — and anything that divides does not come from Him.

Insights from Scripture and Prophets

The Savior’s doctrine is not a long list of intellectual requirements. It is built upon two things: repentance and coming unto Him.

Elder Neal A. Maxwell once observed:

“His doctrine is His. It is not man’s. It is not to be altered, added to, or taken from.”
Elder Neal A. Maxwell, October 1982 General Conference

In this teaching, He both invites and defines. To belong to His church is to come unto Him with a repentant heart — not just to affiliate with an institution, but to unite with Him spiritually.

His doctrine has power to bind hearts in unity and peace. And it begins with repentance, humility and coming unto Him.
