Day 13 – Arise and Come Forth Unto Me

Part 13/19: 40 Days with the Risen Christ

Christ invites the Nephites to come forth

Words of the Risen Lord

Arise and come forth unto me, that ye may thrust your hands into my side, and also that ye may feel the prints of the nails in my hands and in my feet, that ye may know that I am the God of Israel, and the God of the whole earth, and have been slain for the sins of the world. — 3 Nephi 11:14

The Moment

After revealing Himself as the Christ, the Risen Lord invited the people to approach Him personally. Not merely as a group, but as individuals. He said:

“Arise and come forth unto me… one by one.” (3 Nephi 11:14–15)

One by one, they felt the prints in His hands and His feet. They saw His side. They heard His voice. They did not just witness His glory—they touched His wounds.

Insights from Scripture and Prophets

Elder David A. Bednar taught:

“One by one is the pattern of the Lord. He ministered to the people… one by one. He invites each of us—one by one—to come unto Him.”
Elder David A. Bednar, October 2018 General Conference

In this sacred encounter, they did more than see the Savior. They came to know Him. His wounds became the witness. His invitation became the foundation of their testimony.

He still invites. One by one. And He waits for each of us to arise and come forth.
